In a new interview on the Iced Coffee Hour podcast, Gage was asked why the final three contestants didn’t make a deal to split the $10 million and walk away with a little more than $3 million each.
“There was no negotiation. It was in our contract that we weren’t allowed to and then in certain challenges, they’d kind of reiterate that. It’s like, ‘By the way, you can’t make any deals.’ You can’t say, ‘Hey, if you help me get to this, I will give you 10% if I win,’” Gage revealed.
“If we could have, we probably would have, with those three people, but there was no ability to negotiate a split,” he said.
Gage said that he couldn’t even give money to other contestants at this point, even if he wanted to.
“And there’s some pretty severe clawbacks in the agreement we signed, if they find that someone is splitting after the fact,” Gage revealed.
