A brand new series of Married At First Sight UK kicked off mid-September and when we say “kicked off,” things are truly kicking off a month into the show. The Channel 4 series sees experts match couples together who then marry without ever meeting before. Of course, success could be on the cards for some of the duos but series 9 sees some of the couples’ relationships descend into total chaos.
Part-way through series 9, some newbies are added to the cast. Fans get to meet Hannah Norburn and Stephen Nolson, both 33. Stephen has been married before and has four children. He tied the knot at 18 and was nervous about committing to someone again. He tells of how this is his “last ditch effort to find his person” on Married At First Sight UK. He says: “I had my heart broken last time, and I’m just refusing to go through it again.”
Orson ‘bigs Hannah up’
It’s officially time to cringe as new scenes roll out on MAFS UK this October. Episode 18 sees Stephen’s wife, Hannah, and another married participant in the experiment, Orson, “flirting.”
Hannah and Orson weren’t trying to hide their “banter” as they “held hands” in front of their Channel 4 co-stars.
The two said there was nothing in their “jokey” behavior, but Hannah is called out by Stephen and many of the other participants for her friendliness towards some of her co-stars.
During series 9 episode 18, the show cuts to Hannah knocking on Orson’s door. She explains how she’s “not ready to give up on Stephen,” and wants to “chat with Orson to get to the bottom of it….”
Hannah tells Orson: “So, there’s rumors about me and you…”
She says the two were having a laugh and a joke at the commitment ceremony, but now “everybody has turned against her.”
Defending her banter, Hannah exclaims: “I can’t win, I’m the villain.”
Orson tells her: “There was no malicious intent,” before asking what he can do to help Hannah.
She asks her co-star to “have her back,” and tells cameras in a confessional: “I think Orson is a good guy.”
Orson admits he “liked” Hannah on first impressions. He asks her: “Do you know how amazing you are?” before telling the gym owner: “She’s fiery, she’s feisty and she looks like she don’t give a sh**.”
Hannah said she was happy to hear Orson “bigging her up.”
‘I’m not in a great place’
Fans appear to be in disbelief at the two “flirting,” and others seem entertained by the episode 18 drama.
Orson admits in a confessional: “I’m not in a great place with Richelle, Stephen’s not in a great place with Hannah.”
He tells the cameras they can “get out now,” as Hannah jokes: “OK, put the kettle on,” after their heart-to-heart.
Forty-one-year-old Orson adds: “I’m not 100 per cent sure if Hannah fancies me or not, if she does…” before laughing.”
The upcoming episode of MAFS UK sees the group split off for ‘boys’ and girls’ days’ and Hannah can be seen saying she feels as if she’s “walking into a lion’s den.”
She’s asked to “explain herself” in front of the group before being accused of “going about things like a d*****ad,” by Polly Sellman.
The chat with Orson comes to light among the men which infuriates Stephen in episode 19. He accuses Hannah of “trying it on with all the other guys.”
Orson says: “I think that’s a bit unfair,” before Stephen exclaims he’s “done.”
At the time of writing, Hannah and Orson give fans a hint they’re still on friendly terms as they follow one another on Instagram.
Hannah and Stephen aren’t following one another.
