Kris Jenner and Nicole Brown were best friends
Kris Jenner and Nicole Brown, who died in 1994, were best friends. She’s spoken publicly about the last time they spoke before she died, which was while visiting Faye Resnick in rehab.
The Kardashians star first met OJ at the age of 17, but reconnected with him when her late ex-husband, Robert Kardashian, was Simpson’s friend. OJ and Nicole visited Kris in hospital after Kourtney was born.
They remained close friends after both their divorces, as Nicole divorced OJ in 1992, two years before her death. All Kris’ kids referred to the Simpsons as “Auntie Nicole” and “Uncle O.J.”
She was with Nicole when she bought OJ gloves
O.J. was accused of the murder of his former wife and friend, Ronald Goldman, and was acquitted of the charges, though he was found liable for the deaths and paid out millions to the victims’ families.
Kris has spoken out about how she was with Nicole when she bought OJ gloves, which were used as evidence for alleged killings during the trial. OJ was later found not guilty of Nicole’s murder in 1995.
Kris was with Nicole in New York City when she purchased the infamous gloves in the trial as a gift for OJ earlier that year. Jenner even sat on Nicole’s side of the courtroom during the trials.
Kris saw OJ as her older brother
Kris saw OJ as her older brother. Robert, Kris’ late ex-husband, became OJ’s lawyer, and had first crossed paths with Simpson in 1967 as a waterboy for the University of Southern California football team.
During an appearance on The Ellen Show, Kris said she knew OJ since she was 17, and he was kind of like a “big brother” to her. After the trial, Kris said OJ tried reaching out a couple of times, but it was “difficult”.
Daughter Kim Kardashian told Dr. Phil, “We really felt in the middle of this trial. We didn’t know which parent to side with.” Years later, Kris honored her by giving Kendall Jenner the middle name, Nicole.
