Meri Brown has hired a lawyer because she’s scared ‘Kody won’t agree’ on shared home

Meri Brown used to sit back and let ex-husband Kody have his say on financial matters. This time is different though, because she’s hired a lawyer to fight her side of the Coyote Pass property.

With Robyn Brown as the only Sister Wives star still married to Kody Brown, the man who used to have four wives is now a one-woman husband. Meri Brown, who left him in 2023, is taking back her power.

Meri Brown decided to hire a lawyer

Meri Brown has decided to hire a lawyer, similar to her Sister Wives co-star Janelle Brown. They will be helping them attempt to get their equal share of the Coyote Pass property, which they all own.

The family have been arguing over the sale of Coyote Pass for ages, but when they eventually decide to put the property on the market, Meri wants to make sure she’s fully protected if she can be.

Janelle once told Christine she needs to lawyer up so Kody Brown gives her a fair share, but she wanted none of it. The property, divided into four plots, is owned by Meri, Janelle, Kody, and Robyn Brown.

She feared Kody ‘wouldn’t agree’ otherwise

Meri wants to get the sale process started as soon as possible, but was worried that Kody wouldn’t agree unless she had a lawyer. She said she’s previously “sat back and not wanted to ruffle feathers.”

She said, “There’s been a lot of confusion surrounding the way things have been done in the family, the way Kody is with me and has been for many years. I think that’s why I’m going to get a lawyer to help.”

“I haven’t pushed the issue on many things, but I will push the issue,” Meri told Janelle via Zoom, who responded, “I’m glad it just makes sure it gets done fairly because I think Kody could just drag his feet.”
