Jonathan Cheban and Kim Kardashian were essentially *the* celebrity friendship I looked up to on KUWTK. But somehow, things haven’t felt the same since the famous family’s show moved to Hulu in a new format called The Kardashians, and there’s one person I truly miss: Jonathan Cheban, AKA Food God.
Jonathan Cheban and Kim Kardashian were BFFs
For the entirety of KUWTK, Jonathan and Kim were always together. He featured in loads of the original episodes, but for some reason, they haven’t been pictured together as much in recent years. Some believe Jonathan’s association with people critical of Kim, like Bethenny Frankel, might have caused tension between the two of them.
People speculated that he might have leaked private information about the Kardashian family, which was never confirmed. “My friends and I have a conspiracy theory that he was always the leak. And they finally cut ties,” one commenter wrote. Another added, “He leaked everything!!! That’s why we haven’t heard anything on the Kardashians recently—they got all the rats out.”
At one point though, the two were always spotted together for more than 15 years, which was a result of Jonathan randomly sitting next to Kim by accident while he was out at Casa Vega with a group of friends. Yet recently, there’s hardly a speck of them hanging out, and he’s not once appeared on The Kardashians.
Where do Jonathan and Kim stand now?!
Jonathan and Kim are still great friends. He confirmed just three months ago that they “constantly speak” but that he’s usually busy travelling, meaning they don’t spend as much time together as they used to. He still gets invited to all the Kardashians glamorous family events, such as Khloe Kardashian‘s wild 40th birthday party.
They were spotted in public at an event in 2022, and more recently, Jonathan bumped into Kim’s ex, Pete Davidson, and seemed super friendly with him. It’s likely they met when Kim was in a relationship with Pete for a few months. Their friendship became a popular topic again in 2023, when they were reunited in public, and then again in August 2024, confirming they’re still super pally.
